The Cloud Alternative: Ugreen NASync DH2300 Review

December 18, 2025

Do you already own a computer, a smartphone, and a router? Then you’re all set. One thing is still missing: a NAS. We’ll tell you what the new Ugreen NASync DH2300 can do for just under $210 and who would actually benefit from such a device.

Imagine being able to access movies from anywhere, share your digital photo albums with everyone, and never worrying about losing your data ever again. The new Ugreen NASync DH2300 offers all these, and much more! Sounds complicated? It isn’t! Not only is it more secure, but it is also cheaper in the long run compared to cloud services. We took a closer look at the Ugreen NASync DH2300.

Ugreen NASync DH2300 – What Is It?

The principle behind a NAS (Network Attached Storage) is relatively simple. It’s a device with high storage capacity that connects to your home router via LAN. Devices like PCs or smartphones can then connect to the NAS, upload and download data, stream content, restore backups, and much more – just like how you do so with cloud storage. However, there are two crucial differences: First, all data doesn’t end up on some server in the USA, but on the “hard drive” in your own living room. This is where data privacy comes into play. Second, cloud storage is usually only available through a subscription. In contrast, with the Ugreen NAS, you only pay the one-time purchase price and electricity costs.

First Impressions

The Ugreen NASync DH2300 is compact, stylish, and, above all, exceptionally well-constructed. We simply cannot find any fault with it. Removing the top cover revealed two SATA drive bays that can hold up to 60 TB of storage (2 x 30 TB). However, storage media are not included in the purchase price.

The setup is an extremely simple affair. Insert the hard drive, secure it with the included screws, slide it into the enclosure, and attach the magnetic cover —voila! Connect the NAS to the router via LAN, plug the power adapter into the wall socket, and you’re done. Isn’t it completely straightforward and uncomplicated?

The ability to send shareable links without using the cloud is particularly practical for everyday use. Furthermore, the setup process is straightforward and easy to manage, even for those who are new to NAS servers.
