Meet Circular Ring 2: A smart ring that may be able to track your blood pressure and glucose levels | Technology News

October 21, 2025

Samsung’s Galaxy Ring may have helped popularise smart rings, but these fitness tracking devices still miss out on some features compared to their smartwatch counterparts. However, a startup going by the name Circular may soon change that with the Ring 2, its newest third generation smart ring which the company unveiled at the CES earlier this year.

Following its Kickstarter campaign crossing the $1 million mark, the company recently opened pre-orders for the Ring 2 and announced that it is working on adding blood pressure and blood glucose trend tracking capabilities. While blood pressure sensing will be coming to the Circular Ring 2 at the end of the year via an OTA update, the sensor-driven blood glucose trend analysis will be available sometime next year.

How is Circular planning to measure blood pressure and blood glucose levels?

According to Circular, the Ring 2 will measure blood pressure using Pulse Transmit Time (PTT), which refers to the amount of time it takes for your blood through your arteries. For those wondering, the measurement is said to take anywhere between 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

Circular added that the Ring 2 will be getting blood glucose trend tracking in late 2026. The company also clarified that the functionality will work by “analyzing the way light interacts with blood through PPG sensors and using advanced machine learning”.

However, this approach may not be accurate when compared to methods like finger pricks and continuous glucose monitors. Circular seems to be aware of this and has said that this feature won’t be replacing medical-grade glucose monitoring but will help users get insight into how factors like diet, exercise and sleep impact their glucose levels.

The Circular Ring 2 is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter with a price tag of $239 for early backers. Also, unlike other fitness tracking devices, it has no subscription model and all features are available for free out of the box.
