Apple today launched the new Apple Watch Series 8 at its Far Out launch event at Apple Park. The new Apple Watch succeeds the Apple Watch Series 7 and comes with a number of new features along with a design that’s very reminiscent of its predecessor. Here’s all you need to know about the Apple Watch Series 8.

Apple Watch Series 8: What’s new?

The Apple Watch Series 8 comes with a design close to that of the Apple Watch Series 7. Apple has thrown in some new abilities including a built-in temperature sensor and improved health features including health-tracking and ovulation monitoring for women.

The Apple Watch Series 8 also comes with a new safety feature called advanced crash detection. The feature is powered by a 3-axis sensor and a new accelerometer. the feature is aimed at saving lives and will alert authorities automatically if the Apple Watch detects that the user has been caught in a severe crash.

Apple also claims that the Apple Watch comes with 18-hour battery life, along with a new Low-Power mode that enables more functionality when the power saving has kicked in. The Apple Watch Series 8 is also able to connect to cellular networks abroad thanks to Apple partnering with over 30 carriers globally.

The Apple Watch Series 8 comes in four colours and three dials. Users also get a number of Nike watchfaces and a number of custom bands to customise the look of your Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $399 for the non-cellular and $499 for the celular model. The watch will go on sale from September 16. We should also soon have the India-specific pricing of the Apple Watch Series 8.

Apple Watch SE Gen 2: What’s new?

The new Apple Watch SE Gen 2 comes with a 30 per cent larger display and internals that Apple claims make the watch 20 per cent faster. The Apple Watch SE also comes with crash detection, a number of colour variants and more. The Watch SE Gen 2 comes in starting at $249 for the WiFi variant and $299 for the cellular version.
