Malaysia Airlines is strengthening its presence in India through travel trade engagement and new consumer partnerships, following a 10 per cent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic between India and Malaysia during the first half of 2026.The airline carried close to one million passengers between the two countries during the period, supported by demand across leisure and premium travel segments. Our travel trade partners are central to how we reach and serve this market, and we value the role they play in growing travel between India and Malaysia and beyond. At the same time, we are broadening our engagement with Indian consumers through new collaborations that bring together complementary strengths across payments, lifestyle and digital platforms. Together, these efforts support our ambition to make Malaysia Airlines a preferred partner for travellers from India and enhance the connectivity that links India with Malaysia and the wider region.”The partnership with PayU, a digital payments and financial services provider, will explore opportunities in payments-related services. Times Black, a premium lifestyle and experiences platform, will support engagement with lifestyle-focused consumers, while Jio Network will provide opportunities for digital and media outreach. The airline said the collaborations would complement its existing distribution and market development efforts by bringing together capabilities across payments, lifestyle and digital platforms.Malaysia Airlines is also continuing to support Visit Malaysia 2026, the country’s tourism promotion initiative, by encouraging more Indian travellers to explore Malaysian destinations.
